Macarons…need I say more? This charming French pastry shop is located in the heart of Charleston on King Street. Given its convenient location, you should make a stop at La Pâtisserie for a bite to eat. The cafe is actually part of Hotel Bennett but is easily accessible from the main street. Enjoy!

Leon’s Fine Poultry & Oyster Shop

If you’re looking for authentic, southern fried chicken and oysters, look no further than LEON’S. The restaurant is housed in an old body shop that belonged to Leon Ravenel— a businessman that served Charleston residents for many years. LEON’S has been recognized as a leader in Charleston’s food scene by Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, Conde Nast Traveler, New York Times, James Beard Foundation, Travel & Leisure, EATER, and more.

We ate a delicious dinner here and enjoyed the unique decor throughout the restaurant. It definitely is one of the best restaurants in Charleston!

Page’s Okra Grill

We absolutely loved dining at Page’s Okra Grill. Their menu is HUGE and everything looked (& smelled) delicious! While everything is yummy, the house specialty Shrimp + Grits have a reputation all their own and have been featured on the Travel Channel and in Southern Living Magazine. We agree that their shrimp & grits are to-die-for. Head over to the Mount Pleasant area for one of the best meals of your trip.

Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit

Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit is a grab-and-go biscuit restaurant. It is located in Charleston’s Upper King District and the Charleston City Market. This quaint shop received praise from Saveur, Food & Wine, Southern Living, The New York Times and Oprah among others. These are some of the best hand-made biscuits we have ever tasted!

Bitty & Beau’s Coffee

Not only is Bitty & Beau’s Coffee a great place to stop by for a snack, but it comes with a heartfelt story. The original cafe was run by 19 employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Now with 4 locations, Bitty & Beau’s Coffee currently employs 80 people with disabilities. The coffee shop been featured on The Today Show, Rachael Ray, CNN, Harry, Good Morning America, Dr. Oz, HLN, People Magazine and Southern Living Magazine. Amy Wright, the founder of Bitty & Beau’s, was named 2017 CNN Hero of the Year!

We loved getting A+ service during our time at this special coffee shop. Bitty & Beau’s Coffee cannot be missed!

Harborview Restaurant and Lounge

For dinner & a view, venture to the Harborview Restaurant and Lounge. It is located on the top floor of the round, unique, 14-story Holiday Inn hotel. Dining here will present you with spectacular panoramic views of the Charleston city scape and harbor. For an incredible experience, schedule your dinner around sunset. This is one of the best spots in the city to watch the sunset over Charleston.

In fact, we stumbled upon this unique dining experience because this was the hotel where we stayed!

  • Halls Chophouse – fine dining serving prime steaks, Lowcountry and fresh seafood specialties
  • Swig & Swine – a barbecue lover’s destination
  • FIG – offers a seasonally rotating menu focused on fresh American cuisine
  • Taco Boy – not only is it good food, but it’s also very Instagram-worthy
  • 167 Raw – raw bar and seafood restaurant. Seafood lovers will find everything they could ever want here
